GRANULAR SULFUR is a chemical product and Arena Petro Gas is in position to supply and export it directly from ABADAN OIL REFINING COMPANY - BANDAR IMAM PETROCHEMICAL - KHARG PETROCHEMICAL - ESFAHAN OIL REFINING - TABRIZ OIL REFINING - RAZI PETROCHEMICAL - LAVAN OIL REFINING - SHAZAND OIL REFINING - BANDAR ABBAS OIL REFINING - TEHRAN OIL REFINING COMPANY through its trading services according to the following specification and technical properties.
Granular sulfur is a yellow, inert, water-insoluble crystalline solid that is mainly used in the production of:
- sulfuric acid
- phosphorus fertilizers
- plant protection chemicals
- steel industry.
It is also used to lower the pH of alkaline soils and to reclaim sodic soils. Granular sulfur can apply directly to the soil or as an additive to N-P-K fertilizers. However, granular sulfur must be oxidized by soil microorganisms to sulfate (SO4-2), which is the plant-available form of sulfur. The oxidation rate depends on several factors, such as particle size, soil temperature, moisture, and microbial activity. The smaller the particle size, the faster the oxidation. Therefore, granular sulfur should be finely ground and uniformly distributed throughout the soil to increase its effectiveness. Granular sulfur should also be applied well in advance of crop need, preferably before planting, and incorporated into the soil.
The typical specifications of granular sulfur for fertilizer use are:
- Purity: 99.5% min
- Moisture: 0.5% max
- Particle size: 2-5 mm
- Bulk density: 1.2-1.4 g/cm3
- Hardness: 3-5 N
