In addition, it is a product that is obtained from the electrolysis of sodium chloride (NaCl) solutions, also known as the chlor-alkali process. This process produces chlorine (Cl2), sodium hydroxide (NaOH, caustic soda) and hydrogen (H2), which are commodity chemicals required by industry.
